
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented HR Advisor to support an Australian HR and recruitment consultancy in a part-time work setup. In this role, you will provide administrative, compliance, and research support to a Senior HR Consultant, helping ensure client work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with Australian employment legislation.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on experience supporting Australian businesses in an HR capacity and a strong understanding of the Fair Work framework, Modern Awards, and employment compliance requirements. You will play a critical role behind the scenes by keeping projects moving, maintaining accurate documentation, and ensuring important employment-related updates and obligations are effectively managed.
Your Client:
You will be working with a Perth-based HR and recruitment consultancy that partners with SMEs across the engineering, construction, and industrial sectors. The company provides practical HR and recruitment support to businesses throughout Australia, helping clients navigate employment obligations, people management matters, and workforce challenges.
As the business continues to grow, they are looking for an experienced HR Coordinator to support their senior HR consultant by managing documentation, conducting employment-related research, and coordinating project deliverables across multiple client engagements.
To be successful in this role, you must have experience with the following:
Essential Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting Australian businesses in an HR capacity.
Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards (NES), and the Australian Modern Award system.
Demonstrated ability to interpret Modern Awards, classifications, pay rates, and employee entitlements.
Experience preparing employment contracts, variation letters, performance management documentation, and HR correspondence.
Ability to confidently navigate Fair Work resources, including the Fair Work Commission website, Pay Calculator, and relevant employment legislation databases.
Strong English communication skills in a professional HR and employment context.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Desirable
Supported an HR consultancy, outsourced HR provider, or HR advisory business.
Exposure to construction, engineering, manufacturing, aged care, government, or SME.
Experience monitoring employment law updates and preparing compliance summaries.
Familiarity with HR systems, ATS platforms, or document management systems.
Experience supporting multiple clients or projects simultaneously.
Some of the activities you will be involved in will include:
Sourcing and identifying qualified candidates through LinkedIn Recruiter, job boards, and referrals while ensuring timely delivery of shortlisted candidates.
Conducting initial screening calls and preparing accurate, well-structured candidate summaries aligned with client briefs.
Building and maintaining structured talent pools across key sectors, contributing proactive talent insights and market intelligence to the team.
Mapping passive candidates, company structures, and key market data to support current and future recruitment projects.
Triaging client HR queries and preparing draft responses for consultant review.
Conducting Modern Award and employment compliance research.
Drafting employment contracts, contract variations, performance documentation, warning letters, and HR correspondence using approved templates.
Monitoring Fair Work Commission updates, award variations, and employment legislation changes and preparing briefing summaries.
Maintaining client document libraries, HR registers, and compliance records.
Tracking project deliverables and following up on outstanding actions.
Conducting employment-related research to support client engagements.
Assisting with HR administration and documentation across multiple client accounts.
Ensuring all documents are accurate, compliant, and professionally presented.
